Atlanta's Athlete of the Year

Angelo was chosen as the Amateur Athlete of the Year by the Atlanta Sports Council.
Host Ernie Johnson of TNT put the event, held Monday, into perspective. As reported by the Atlantic Business Council:
“Tonight we step away from the game to appreciate what’s around us,” Johnson said.
Among the honorees were Keith Brooking, Sports Person of the Year for work in the community; Knowshon Moreno, Collegiate Athlete of the Year; Griffin High’s Tim Beckham (the first overall pick in Major League Baseball’s amateur draft), Greater Atlanta Christian’s Luke Davis and Alpharetta High’s Chelsea Hassett, High School Scholar Athletes of the Year; The University of Georgia Gymnastics team, Team of the Year.
