The Minnesota Timberwolves have selected their new coach, and Al Jefferson likes the choice. A lot.
Kurt Rambis, the former Los Angeles Lakers assistant, was introduced Wednesday, and afterward, Big Al shared his enthusiasm with the local media:
"The No. 1 thing I like about him is, he just left a championship team and in maybe two, three years he would have been the head coach in L.A...But he felt it was right here. That meant a lot to me because a lot of people don’t want to come to Minnesota...We’ve got to do the things that make people want to come here."
COMEBACK TRAIL
Meanwhile, No. 25 has continued to heal up, growing stronger each day as he recovers from knee surgery. By his own account, he will be ready for the coming NBA season.
"I feel like I could play contact right now," he said. "The only thing, I know I'm not in shape. If I could play a halfcourt game right now, I would kill you."
