USATF Athlete of the Week

Terrence Trammell is making the world take notice again. Coming off his victory in the U.S. Indoor Championships, USA Track and Field named him its Athlete of the Week.

As posted on USATF.org:

Terrence Trammell has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the men's 60m hurdles and the Visa Championship Series title Sunday at the 2009 USA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston.

A two-time Olympic and World Outdoor silver medalist, Trammell put the men's Visa Championship and its $25,000 payday out of reach with a near-perfect run in the men's 60m hurdles. Already the Visa points leader with 1,226 entering the USA Championships, Trammell led from start to finish, winning in 7.37 seconds to break Reggie Torian's 10-year-old meet record of 7.38. The time was just .01 off the American record, was a 2009 world leader and gave him 1,259 points in the Visa standings.
